Prestigious Yacht Builder Finds Eavesdropping Devices in Complex Spy Case

Suspicious individuals were noted repeadedly around the Ferretti Group headquarters and hotels frequented by the company Executive Director, Xu Xinyu. This prompted the hiring of a professional TSCM team to conduct inspections of his office and other rooms, including the offices of the secretary and a translator. They found microphones and transmitters in the directors office and devices hidden in electric outlets in the other rooms.  Any suspicious activity could be cause for concern and prompt the need for a thorough TSCM inspection. In this case it was not just the principal, but the secretary and translator as well, whose offices were compromised.

Recording device found in New Canaan, CT

A New Canaan man reported to police that he had found a recording device. He believed his wife had been eavesdropping on him, and when confronted she admitted it. He told authorities that he “runs a business from his home office and that she was intentionally and knowingly eavesdropping on his private business conversations with colleagues and other personal conversations,” the warrant application said.

14 Surveillance Devices Found- Office of Management and Budget in US Virgin Island

Who is the bad guy? They are not always easy to recognize.

A company offering a number of services including security, cyber security, and digital marketing, has been revealed to be the source of over a dozen eavesdropping devices planted in government offices in the US Virgin Islands.

The company, Mon Ethos, according to their website, offers a multitude of services. These include cybersecurity, digital forensics, IT consulting, physical security, and more. Their website also claims the USVI Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as a client.

But it turns out recently unsealed documents have revealed that they were also responsible for the planting of over a dozen eavesdropping device in the OMB and a number of other government agencies.

The discovery of the devices was first reported in August, 2022, in the Virgin Islands Consortium.
