The world of corporate espionage is ever growing. In an effort to keep abreast of current events, recent videos help to provide a good background, especially how the Chinese communist government has been conducting their spy efforts, something that all corporate security personnel need to be aware of.

In two CNBC videos, Eamon Javers, author of the book “Broker, Trader, Lawyer, Spy, the Secret World of Corporate Espionage” (mentioned in this previous post) explores the case of Xu Yanjun, a spy from China who was convicted in U.S. federal court of trying to steal GE engine secrets, and what it reveals about China’s plans to take on Boeing, GE Aviation, Honeywell and the rest of America’s aerospace industry.

The first is the 20 minute CNBC video “How The U.S. Caught A Chinese Spy”. The second is a more in depth documentary (43 min), “China’s Corporate Spy War”.

If you missed our recent previous post, Bloomberg also published a video on recent Huawei spying efforts against 5G telecom firm TDC and Ericsson.

Eamon Javers’ book is also good reading on the matters of corporate espionage.
