This astonishing footage shows a secret 500-year-old spy chamber found underneath a Moscow street. Archaeologists say the room was built by Ivan the Terrible’s mother in the 16th Century. It is thought to have been used to eavesdrop on the enemy through a wall. It’s vaulted walls are said to have created a special acoustic effect which helped people listen to what was happening outside.

A British documentary reveals that MI5 was ordered to wiretap King Edward VIII’s phone over fears that his lover might be leaking secrets.

Government ministers ordered the wiretapping over fears that she ran in fascist circles and he may have been leaking her secret cabinet documents. There were also concerns among intelligence officers that the king had fascist leanings himself.
