Small covert cameras are difficult to spot. We are regularly called to inspect areas to help insure privacy. Not just bathrooms, but targets include offices, conference rooms, any place where privacy and confidentiality is desired.

Reported on Indianapolis WISH TV,  a couple found a hidden camera installed in their bathroom vent.

Neighbors are on edge in a northeast side apartment complex after a couple found a hidden camera in their apartment. The couple found the camera in their bathroom vent Sunday, according to IMPD. It happened at the Northampton Village Apartments near 38th Street and Shadeland Avenue. Police said they don’t know who put the camera in the vent.

A police report said a woman noticed a loose vent while preparing to take a bath. The woman asked her husband to fix the vent and he found a small camera, wires and a battery. The couple called police and, according to IMPD, a detective also saw the camera.

Their neighbor, Cassandra Cullen, spent her day digging through her bathroom vents. Just a couple doors down, Cullen shared a message for the property managers. “I think they need to hire someone outside to check everyone’s vents,” Cullen said. “People are not going to want to live here if they don’t feel safe in their apartment.”

Thermal Air Vent FLIR

One of the tools that we use for camera detection is thermal imaging analysis. The photo above shows what the heat emitted by camera circuitry hidden would look like behind an apartment vent. Call us if you have concerns regarding hidden cameras, eavesdropping, or any electronic privacy concerns.
